Heritage sheep breed maintained at primary school

Dorset Horn rams.

The standard of the Dorset Horn classes was very even according to judge James Corcoran Snr, Gooramma Poll Dorsets, Boorowa, when 11 sheep were paraded..

"They are a very good Dorset Horn type, impressive with good carcass and constitution," he said.

The grand champion ram was exhibited by Noah Harris, St Lawrence's Catholic School, Coonabarabran, while the reserve champion was paraded by Tara Kempston, Silverdale, Inglewood, Qld (both pictured above with Mr Corcoran).

The grand champion and the reserve grand champion ewes were exhibited by St Lawrence's Catholic School.

"She is a very good ewe, sound on her feet and with a very good carcass, and just a bit ahead of the reserve," Mr Corcoran said.
