Quality, reliability and robustness in key machinery

Getting to $100B in farm outputs by 2030 will need productivity, innovation and research increases.

CUT OUT FOR IT: Colac AG supplies and supports a range of Samasz products, including mowers, to help farmers boost their output.

Australia's agricultural industry is playing a critical role in feeding the nation and the world.

It is also gearing up to achieving the National Farmers' Federation's (NFF) goal to exceed $100 billion in farm gate output by 2030.

This will require improvements in productivity, innovations and research in all sectors.

As a key player in Australia's grains, livestock, horticulture, viticulture and dairy sectors, Samasz Australia is contributing to this by supplying quality, reliable and proven machinery and equipment to help farmers extract maximum production and returns from every arable hectare on their property.

Samasz products, which are available from Victorian-based farm machinery supplier Colac AG, are enabling growers and contractors to maintain operational capacity when it comes to key tasks of raking, mowing and sawing.

This has been achieved even during 2020 and 2021, despite the challenges associated with COVID-19 restrictions.

Samasz has been able to ensure continual delivery of parts and technical support to keep farmers moving in this unprecedented environment.

Colac AG sales and operations director Jon Allan said the Samasz brand was going from strength to strength in Australia.

"The company has been at the forefront of manufacturing innovative and practical farm machinery in Europe since 1984," he said.

"It is driven to constantly develop and provide world-class machinery right across the globe."

Mr Allan said there were more than 140,000 Samasz machines in operation in many countries across the world.

He said these were tried and tested in wide-ranging soil and climatic conditions with outstanding results.

"For example, the Samasz perfect cut cutterbar has been designed for a precise cut to achieve maximum yield," he said.

"Like all of the company's equipment, its components are highly durable, cost effective and available quickly if a module replacement is needed."

Mr Allan said the Samasz KDT mower was the most popular product in the company's disc mower range in Australia.

He said it was made of the best quality materials and stood up to every challenge thrown at it.

"The KDTC mowers have been Samasz's first entry into the central suspension disc mower market," he said.

"From the first models in 2008, these mowers have gone through a continual amount of modernisation to be up-to-date with constantly changing market demands."

Mr Allan said the ability of farmers and contractors to prepare high quality forage was one of the most important tasks in modern dairy and meat production.

"The access to world class rakes that meet the higher and higher requirements is a challenge for every manufacturer to address," he said.

Samasz makes suspended single rotor or twin rotor rakes in a range of sizes to cater for each agricultural need.

The Samasz Twist 600 is a centre delivery basket rake that is mounted to the front or rear of the tractor and is designed for fast, efficient and clean raking.

"With front mounting, you can simultaneously rake and bale at the same time," Mr Allan said.

"The rake consists of two working systems driven by the tractor's hydraulics using hydraulic motors - without the need for the tractor's PTO shaft."

Mr Allan said Colac AG supplied five models of Samasz tedders.

Its P4-531 is a four rotor, 5.3 mere working width linkage tedder.

The six rotor linkage models are the P6-651, P6-771 and P6-771 C and the biggest is the eight rotor P8-890.

"Due to their high performance, quality and solid construction, Samasz tedders have an established position on the European market - and are growing rapidly in popularity with Australian farmers," Mr Allan said.

"If you are operating in uneven and hilly country, the front support wheel is available as an accessory for even better machine and turf protection."

Mr Allan said Samasz manufactured a suite of equipment for harvesting tasks for small and large broadacre croppers.

"There are options for hobby farmers, all the way through to heavy duty, large scale machines to suit the biggest of contractors or farmers," he said.
